George Stephanopoulos, Mitt Romney - Today Show
Brief clip of Stephanopoulos correcting Romney on Mormon doctrine. Romney was asked a question in which the true answer would alienate traditional Christians. He responed with a politically saavy answer to appease Christians, but it was not a factual answer.
It is a great illustration of how Mitt Romney uses the "Never give meat, when milk will do" Mormon methodology of responding to difficult questions that might expose real LDS doctrine as in opposition to traditional Christian doctrine. This is how Mormon missionaries are taught to deal with questions from potential converts or any non-LDS. One of the best examples this sanctioned "deception" was caught on film when a famous LDS author and BYU professor gave a talk to missionaries.
The fact that Mormons believe different doctrines is perfectly acceptable. Being Christian isn't an "official" requirement for the presidency, but we expect candor from candidates, and Romney's obvious deception is disconcerting. This is one of the best examples of how Mitt Romney is preapred to misrepresent himself and the LDS Church to capture the Evangelical vote.
