Early Mormon Offenses CONTROVERSIAL NEW FILM - SEPTEMBER DAWN (2007)
This video section is included because this incident is referenced in the article The Mormon Wildcard as an example of one of the many instances of early Mormons disreagrding the laws at the direction of their Prophet. The Mountain Meadows Massacre is an incident where an entire wagon train of settlers were murdered by Mormons. Historians are split as to whether the Prophet Brigham Young ordered the executions; however, they are quite certain he approved of them and assisted in covering up the facts. This incident further strained relations with the federal government and the Mormons in the Utah territory.
